If you want to do this manually, you can achieve the same result by fixing the robots.txt file  :

    1. Use File Manager  or an FTP client like FileZilla Client  to access your website
    2. Locate robots.txt file. It may be located in the same directory of WordPress (usually the public_html directory ). If you cannot find it, create a new file with the same name.
    3. Enter the following to block search engine from crawling your website:
    4. User-agent: *

Disallow: /

Having the above line in the robots.txt file is like saying to the search engine “no, I don’t want the site to be crawled, away from my website.”
